You can store all your Customers' contact and delivery information in SeedLeaf, such as their name, address, email, and delivery instructions. We recommend you DO NOT store your Customers' credit card information in SeedLeaf.

Even though SeedLeaf has many Customer fields, there are only two fields that are required:

  1. Customer Name

  2. Customer Type (e.g., grocer, restaurant, wholesaler)

Simply enter the name and type and scroll down and click "Add" to save your Customer. You can add other details at any time.

There are two variants of Customers you can use in SeedLeaf:

  1. Real Customers, like Poppy's Cafe

  2. Virtual Customers, like the Lawnmower Man

Real Customers want your products and will pay you money.

Virtual Customers do not exist and have no money for you. But they can help you with crop planning!

Virtual customers allow you to grow more Crop than is required to fulfill your real Customer Orders and are useful for Crops that have a "purpose" rather than a Customer Order. Here are some suggested Virtual Customers you can use with their purposes built into their names:

  1. Buffer

  2. Samples

  3. Staff

  4. Experimental Trials

You don't need to use use Virtual Customers, but they are helpful for ensuring the number of trays you are growing match the number of trays your SeedLeaf Tasks have prompted you to grow.

But, of course, you can sow however many trays you want, whenever you want!

You can read more about Virtual Customers here.
